In recent weeks we’ve heard the NAACP make a resolution regarding the Tea Parties. Clearly, this is the last-ditch effort of the DNC, the white house administration and the willing participants in the media. It is an attempt to divide what can be called “tea party mentality” sweeping the country. What do I mean by this? Simply put the Tea Parties, which hold fast to the following three principles ARE IN FACT COMMONLY SHARED BY THE GREAT MAJORITY OF AMERICANS!!!!!
Tea Party Core Principles:
1. Fiscal responsibility with a desire for less spending and smaller government. No, this doesn’t mean dissolution of all government and it doesn’t mean Americans should forgo essential safety, roads and public institutions. However, it does mean the burgeoning bureaucracies which envelope, smother and control those functions needs drastic cuts in funding. The union influence on these functions, particularly needs to be curtailed or eliminated. Duplication of services should be eliminated with state control taking precedence over any overlapping and sometimes contradicting regulations of the Federal government. One function which is part of the enumerated powers granted government by the constitution is national security, including protection of our borders. This function while recognized as a main function of government should also be subject to improved efficiency and reduction of waste without impacting the safety of our men and women in battle.
2. Adherence to the Constitution: This means the actual words of the document, which guarantee our personal freedoms and acknowledge that those freedoms (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness). These are not granted by the government rather the document acknowledges they are “unalienable” and come directly from our maker. This doesn’t mean our government should become a religious pulpit, but nor should it deny these fundamental truths on which this country was founded.
The constitution also dictates we are a nation of law and that the courts should uphold those laws based upon facts and not the color or a person’s skin or empathy towards a certain demographic group.
3. Free Market Principles: As part of those unalienable fundamental truths, each of us is entitled to the fruits of his own labor. Each and every one of us is different with a unique set of skills, knowledge and motivation. It would be impossible to mandate equal outcomes from our endeavors in life. Equal opportunity? Yes, absolutely! but not equal and guaranteed results or worse, re-distributive efforts to punish those who excel and reward those who do not.
Free market does not mean totally unregulated industry. However, it does mean common sense and realization that more often than not, government regulation itself creates problems. One only has to look to the imploding of the housing market and finance to realize distortion of long-held banking rules in efforts to provide housing to those who could not afford it created the meltdown of the financial markets and perhaps effected the entire world economy.
It is these principles that are the core beliefs of the Tea Party. Is there racism in this country? The obvious answer is yes. However, as clearly proven and well documented, it is not the tea party members who identify with racism. Nor is it the very broad interpretation of opposition to a black president an example of racism. In reality, branding someone a racist falsely is in fact racism itself.
Racism as a tool:
The use of racism accusations are an effort to divide this country. It is baseless and without merit or verification. Unfortunately, the media has no problem repeating any hint of a merit-less accusation of racism against the Tea Parties. I’d go further to say the media has a clear stake in the continued agenda of the current administration and congress. It can be characterized quite accurately by Bernard Goldberg’s “A slobbering Love Affair”.
This this falsehood of racism is not limited to the national media. It is an underlying theme even in local small town media and papers. The issue of illegal immigration and a desire for secure borders has been turned upside down with charges of racism against anyone who supports efforts for secure borders. Racism is also the label for anyone who disdains the billions of taxpayer dollars spent providing services for illegals. No, these people in our country illegally are not “undocumented”, they broke the law and are therefore illegal.
Black Racists or Patriots?
Perhaps those suffering the most wrath of left-wing organizations like the NAACP and the core of the DNC are those Americans of African heritage who hold strong conservative views. Notice I didn’t say African-Americans? Those of us with any ethnic background do not refer to ourselves as “Swedish-Americans” or any other hyphenated description. We are Americans first and foremost, the same as those who are part of group defined as minorities. For those who are black or brown with a public voice are the most derided. In fact, the possible incidence of physical violence and bodily harm is and has been real. They are most feared by those who would use racism as a tool.
Many of us had the pleasure to listen to Rev. Yuille, National Director of the Black Pro-life Congress know first hand the conviction to conservatism held by him and his opposition to any charge of racism against the Tea Parties. Hopefully we will have Rev Yuille as a speaker at a meeting in the near future. This will allow all members of the Holland Zeeland Tea Party and any member of the public wishing to know the truth to hear him.
In the meantime, I invite you visit the web page of this inspiring man and his organization.
Did you know the NAACP finally did acknowledge “black racism”? You might think (and reasonably so) it is the man pictured in the following video:
This is the man the NAACP recently labeled a “black racist”
His name is Chris Levels. He does a radio show in Flint, MI called “Politics and Prophecy”. It is on M-F 10:AM on WSNL 600 AM. AM signal probably won’t reach Holland but it streams via www.wsnlradio.com.
The Michigan Supreme Court
Another Speaker I invite you to know is Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Young. Here is his Facebook Page.
Of note, Young is also running for election this fall. While campaign rules prohibit judges from “campaigning” like other candidates, there are no rules for individuals supporting them. I whole heartedly support Robert and urge you to do the same. At this time where the MI Supreme court can drastically impact our future I strongly support the election of judges like Robert to move the court back to conservative leaning.
